The Theiss Family has been producing vegetables and other farm and ranch products for over 158 years in Harris County, selling these products to the people of this community, Houston area, as well as Harris and surrounding counties. We plan to continue this family tradition, thanks to you, our friends and customers.
The main location of Theiss Farms Market began in the late 1970’s as a little stand under a shade tree selling homegrown tomatoes to friends and neighbors. In June of 1985, a new market was opened and continued selling the same homegrown tomatoes along with many other homegrown items, including a sweet corn called Summer Sweet, “The best tasting sweet corn in Texas!” We remodeled in 2004 and a restaurant was added along side of the market. It is still in the same location, behind the HEB store off of Stuebner Airline just north of Louetta in Klein, Texas. We still sell our homegrown tomatoes and our summer sweet corn along with a wide variety of fresh fruits and other home grown vegetables raised on our own farm.
In 1998, our second location was opened. It also started out under a shade tree. It was opened by the farmer's daughter and her husband, Mike and Stacey (Theiss) Watthuber. They sold the same great homegrown produce out of a trailer off of Sawdust Road in The Woodlands, Texas on the weekends. In 2004, they opened 7 days a week and expanded the market carrying a larger selection of fresh fruits and homegrown vegetables as well as home made items, such as jellies, jams, and pickles. In 2008, they relocated to 2008 Rayford Road.
Both locations are open 7 days a week starting at the beginning of May of each year. During corn season, we cut corn daily so you can come in for fresh corn anytime. As usual, we look forward to seeing you this summer.
